How We Got Here: Honeycomb 2.0
Back in March 2020 life came to a screeching halt and once the world slowed down I was staring at severe burnout. If you’ve been around Honeycomb for a while, you might remember that shift. As I faced a dwindling client list and what felt like creative dilution happening in my projects, I reimagined what Honeycomb could be and introduced Brand in a Week and Website in a Week – 5-day design intensives.
At the time it wasn’t our core service, but it quickly became our most coveted offering eventually replacing all of our other design services. Five years and over 50 Brand-in-a-Weeks later, it has become a proven system for launching brands quickly without sacrificing their quality.
What made Honeycomb 2.0 special wasn't just beautiful design work – I'm incredibly proud of the brands we created – it was the process, the preparation, the deep diving into who our clients were before we ever started designing.
Hitting the Ceiling
As we moved through 2024, I began feeling constrained by my own service model. Clients needed more – more strategy, more consulting, more resources beyond the design work. They valued our strategy as much as our design skills, yet our services were primarily design-focused.
Starting a business was overwhelming before, but now? We're swimming in AI tools promising efficiency, templates of varying quality, and a social media landscape so noisy it feels like screaming into the void. No wonder so many of my first-time business owners tell me they've spent months spinning their wheels.
We needed a better way to build brands. One that's sustainable, distinctly human, and leverages the right tools to launch faster. Because the world needs your ideas out there, not buried under a mountain of to-dos.
In my frustration, I even tried launching a separate brand to house those offerings called Cowork with Callie. But it didn’t land quite right, it felt like splitting myself in two.
Meanwhile, a long-term project was draining my creative energy. I’d finish work days feeling depleted rather than inspired, and the spark that had always fueled my passion for this work was dangerously low.
Fast forward to February 2025 – the moment everything shifted. Proposals fell through, I was seeing the landscape changing yet again, and something deep in my gut was whispering, “it’s time for a change”.
When you’re at a crossroads like that, you have a choice: keep mindlessly pushing forward or consciously slow down and reassess. Those choices define the next chapter, and I knew what I wanted wasn’t going to happen without a little discomfort.
The Rebuild
Just like I did in March 2020, I sat in front of Chris (husband, business partner, faithful cheerleader, home chef), and confessed that I was at a crossroads. And just like he did before, he encouraged me to explore it.
We went back to the drawing board, peeling back Honeycomb layer by layer. I used our own prep work and methods to piece everything back together, even leveraging Claude.AI to help make sense of and streamline the process. As I clarified, so did the path forward.
What started as a refresh turned into an entire restructuring. We weren’t just updating our services, we were reimagining how we approach brand building and how we serve our clients.
Along the way, a new philosophy emerged that was so potent I thought “this changes everything”. That philosophy became the foundation for our new approach informing everything from our prep work to our content. You’re going to hear me yap about it all the time from here on out.
Introducing Honeycomb 3.0
Honeycomb 3.0 isn't just a new website, new services, and a new look. It represents the way I think about brands – as ecosystems, not bifurcated parts.
This ecosystem approach isn’t just a business model for us – it’s aligned with how we live. In our rewilding project, Mable and Jack, we’re actively working to create balanced, sustainable systems where each part of our land supports the whole. We’ve learned that the healthiest ecosystems have diversity, clear purpose, and natural cycles – just like the strongest brands. The same principles that guide the work we do outside of Honeycomb now shape the way we are building brands.
At the heart of this transformation is the Honeycomb Method – a culmination of nine years of brand building, a lifetime studying experiences, and an insatiable curiosity about how great brands function. Every client now goes through our foundational Brand Clarity process, receives a customized strategy addressing every layer of their brand, and then chooses how much of that ecosystem we build together.
Honeycomb is no longer a design firm. I've been a world-builder since childhood. Even without explicitly selling it, I've helped clients build their own worlds for years. Now we’re owning it. We're not designers, we're ecosystem builders.
This framework shapes everything we do now, from our initial strategy sessions to our implementation work.

The Future of Honeycomb
For our clients, this means a more holistic approach to building your brand. We're not just designing beautiful visuals – we're creating complete systems that help your business thrive. Chris is stepping into an expanded role, bringing his operations and project management expertise alongside his development skills to ensure our brand ecosystems function optimally from the inside out.
I'm particularly excited about how sustainability becomes central to everything we do. It's what transforms your business from running you to you being in control – the missing piece that's rarely talked about when building a brand. We're not just helping you look good; we're helping you build something that lasts.
This rebrand also reflects my own personal journey of rediscovery. After beginning therapy last year, I realized I had been forcing myself into a box of what seemed "expected" for someone at my professional level – polished, refined, spotless. The irony wasn't lost on me that I built a career helping clients create authentic brands while losing my own voice in the process. As I reconnected with myself, I saw how my business had become disconnected from the vibrant, colorful, occasionally "too much" person I truly am. Honeycomb 3.0 is a return to authenticity – embracing boldness, femininity, and a full-spectrum approach to brand building that feels aligned with who I've always been.
In the nearly nine years that I've been building brands, I've never loved my own as much as I do now. Honeycomb 3.0 reflects everything I've learned and where I want to go. It's the start of a new era, one I believe is going to be our most impactful.
Celebrating Honeycomb 3.0
I'm calling this our "slow launch" because I want to dig deep into each of the shifts and honor this change. A one-and-done celebration simply didn't feel right. Next week, I'll be diving deeper on the rebrand via YouTube and Instagram, but Substack has always been my entrepreneurial diary, so I wanted to share the heart of our rebrand here first.
You can see the new website here: https://www.honeycombcreates.com/
Whether you've just found Honeycomb or been here for the whole journey, it truly means the world that you're part of this community. I'm excited to share more with you in this new season and grow brand ecosystems alongside you.
I have one small ask: I'd love to hear what resonates about Honeycomb 3.0. If you visit the site, would you share your first impressions, what you loved, or even what you'd like to see more of? Your thoughts mean everything to me.
Cheers to this new chapter and all that it holds. I just know it's the start of something really special.
